Publishing on Google Play
Prepare your Android app and publish it through your Google Play account.
Google asks me to run tests before publication. What should I do?
Follow the steps shown in your Google Play Console. Access to publication depends in part on your account. WPMobile provides the app files, but generating them does not bypass Google’s testing or verification requirements. If you get stuck, send WPMobile the exact message displayed in the console.

What is the difference between the APK and AAB files provided by WPMobile?
WPMobile generates both Android formats: APK and AAB. The APK file allows direct installation on an Android device, for example for testing. The AAB file is the one to upload to a Google Play release. To publish a Google Play update, use the new AAB file generated from the WPMobile dashboard.

How do I publish my Android app on Google Play?
Prepare your app in the WPMobile WordPress plugin. Generate the Android version from the WPMobile dashboard. Download the generated AAB file. In your Google Play Console, complete the listing, declarations and steps required for your account. Upload the AAB file to a release and submit it. You complete these steps in a browser without compiling the app yourself.

Do I need my own Google Play developer account?
Yes. You publish your Android app through your own Google Play Console account, not WPMobile’s account. The WPMobile licence covers generation of the app files. Registering for a Google developer account and paying any associated fees are your responsibility.
